
The biggest night in podcasting returned as the British Podcast Awards 2025 took over Indigo at The O2 in Greenwich, London for the very first time. Hosted by comedian and podcaster Maisie Adam, the star-studded ceremony celebrated winners across 31 categories, with a buzzing crowd of podcasters, celebrities and industry figures.
The industry’s top prize, Podcast of the Year, was awarded to Kill List, which also secured Best True Crime Podcast. The hard-hitting investigation made national headlines on release and was praised by the judges for its forensic reporting and gripping storytelling.
Elsewhere, Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett were crowned Best Hosts for their irresistible interview series Dish, while Elis James and John Robins triumphed in Best Comedy Podcast, continuing their reign as two of Britain’s most-loved broadcasters.Building on its 2024 success, Miss Me? with Miquita Oliver and Lily Allen (Persephonica for BBC Sounds) was crowned the first-ever winner of the Video Innovation Award, signalling a new era for the hit podcast as Oliver welcomes special guests following Lily Allen’s recent announcement that she will be taking a break from the podcast.
Fan-favourite Betwixt the Sheets: The History of Sex, Scandal & Society claimed the coveted Listeners’ Choice Award, voted for by the public, while The Traitors: Uncloaked – hosted by comedian Ed Gamble – celebrated a double victory with Best Entertainment Podcast and the coveted Spotlight Award, as Gamble gears up for a new series of the companion podcast alongside the launch of Celebrity Traitors next week.
Pod Save the UK with Nish Kumar and Coco Khan took home the Podcast Champion Award, recognising its genuis mix of politics and comedy, while other Gold winners included Movers & Shakers: a podcast about life with Parkinson’s (Impact), Inbetween Man (Health & Wellbeing), and Sonic Fields (Arts & Culture).
